编者按

 

广州影像三年展2025 以 “感知生态学” 为主题，集结全球 25 个国家和地区的 80 余位影像领域创作者，呈现一场聚焦生态、感知与媒介创新的艺术盛宴。

 

 

 

参展艺术家立足多元文化背景，以摄影、影像装置、数字艺术等丰富媒介，从自然生态、城市生态、人文生态等维度展开创作，用镜头记录环境变迁，以作品探讨人类与自然的共生关系。

 

 

 

这些创作者既是影像艺术的实践者，也是时代议题的回应者。接下来，让我们逐一走近他们，解读其作品背后的创作逻辑与思想内核。

艺术家简介

 

Artist Biography

 

 

 

陈萧伊（b.1992）生于中国四川，2014 年获得伦敦艺术大学纯艺术摄影硕士学位，现工作并生活于成都。她的作品融合多种媒介与形式，常源于对自然与生命形态在不同尺度上的反思。近年来持续推进的项目中，她聚焦中国西南横断山脉的历史痕迹，面对跨越巨大地理尺度与时间维度的存在之物，艺术家以人类的在场为起点，探寻不同存在方式的交汇之处，连接宏观与微观的感知经验。在这一相对冷静的追溯过程中，矿业遗迹被揭示为多重视角下的叙事、描摹与知识体系的具象化呈现。

 

 

 

她的作品曾获得中国第七届三影堂摄影奖大奖，并入选福布斯 2017 年“30 Under 30（Art）”亚洲榜单。其个展项目包括：“Spoken Leaves / 言叶”（罗马 Matèria Gallery，2024），“横断涟漪纪”（千高原艺术空间，2022），“争执”（成都当代影像馆，2020），“他乡异客：当我独自盛开时，世界还在沉睡”（瑞士 The Crochetan 剧院，2018 / 北京三影堂摄影艺术中心，2018），“One Giant Leap”（罗马 Matèria Gallery，2017），“Never!”（成都千高原艺术空间，2017），“Art Projects”（伦敦艺术博览会，2017），“The Inadequacy of Language”（罗马 Matèria Gallery，2016）。

 

 

 其近期作品曾展出于瑞士沃韦影像双年展、西班牙 LA NUU 摄影节、法国米卢斯摄影双年展、东亚文化之都当代艺术节、厦门集美·阿尔勒国际摄影季、连州国际摄影年展、Paris Photo 艺博会、瑞士 Liste 艺博会、伦敦艺术博览会、德国 Folkwang 博物馆、雅典 Benaki 博物馆、广东时代美术馆、深圳 OCAT 艺术中心、上海当代艺术博物馆、北京三影堂摄影艺术中心、成都麓湖 A4 美术馆等。

 

 

 

Xiaoyi Chen (b. 1992) was born in Sichuan, China. She received an MA in Photography from the London College of Communication in 2014 and currently lives and works in Chengdu. Integrating multiple forms and media, her work often derives from reflections on nature and forms of existence across different scales. In her recent and ongoing projects, she focuses on the Hengduan Mountains in southwestern China.

 

 

 

Taking the present day as a starting point, the artist searches for the intersection of different forms of existence within the long durée of geological and cosmological time. In her artworks, the relics of the mining industry are revealed as the embodiment of narratives, descriptions, and knowledge systems from multiple perspectives.

 

 

 

Xiaoyi Chen has exhibited internationally; she was awarded the Three Shadows Photography Award in 2015, China’s most prestigious photography prize, and named one of Asia’s 30 Artist under 30 by Forbes magazine 2017. Her recent solo exhibitions include “Spoken Leaves” (Matèria Gallery, Roma, 2024), “The Epoch of Rippling Hengduan Mountains” (A Thousand Plateaus Art Space, 2022), “Streit” (Chengdu Contemporary Image Museum, China, 2020), “The stranger:...and while I blossomed all alone, the world slumbered” (Theatre Crochetan, Switzerland, 2018 / Three Shadows Photography Art Centre，2018), “One Giant Leap” (Matèria Gallery, Roma, 2017, “Never!”( A Thousand Plateaus Art Space, Chengdu, 2017), “Art Project- London Art Fair” ( Matèria Gallery, London, 2017), “The Inadequacy of Lauguage” (Matèria Gallery, Roma, 2016); and recent works have been exhibited at the Vevey Image (Switzerland), LA NUU photo festival (Spain), La Biennale de la Photographie de Mulhouse (France), Calling/re-Calling-Culture city of east Asia (Japan), Jimei x Arles International Photo Festival (China), Lianzhou Foto (China), Paris Photo (France), Liste Art Fair (Switzerland), London Art Fair (UK), Museum Folkwang (Germany), Benaki Museum (Greece), Guangdong Times Museum (China), OCAT Shenzhen (China), Power Station of Art (China), Three Shadows Photography Art Centre (Beijing), A4 Art Museum (China) etc.

屏风的画面是陈萧伊以两三百张卫星地图拼合而成的横断山地区俯视图：画面中可见起伏的山林、蜿蜒的河流，以及艺术家以绘制“星图”的方式标注出的、她在调研中发现的矿床分布，仿若群星闪烁于黑夜。这个迷人的“地下星空”意象具有某种欺骗性，其背后所指向的，实则是千疮百孔的现代社会与生态环境之间的对抗；但与此同时，它也暗含着一种在黑暗中透出微光的希望叙事。

 

 

 

在艺术家的作品中，矿山、矿洞与矿石作为隐喻性存在。她的这组创作尝试以一种去人类中心的视角，对西部山地进行“影像扫描”，借助图像技术及其中所包含的时间哲学，构建更为宏观的感知结构，从而折射出处于危机之中的生态与社会。陈萧伊曾指出：“存于人迹罕至的西南山地的采矿业，本质上是人与大地交换时间的游戏。”

 

 

 

A Star Atlas from Hengduan’s Core presents an aerial view of the Hengduan Mountain Range, assembled from two to three hundred satellite maps collected by Chen Xiaoyi. Undulating mountains and winding rivers fill the artist’s “star map,” while the mineral deposits identified through her research glimmer like stars in the night. This captivating “underground starry sky” imagery is, however, deceptive: beneath it lies a confrontation between a fractured modern society and the ecological environment. At the same time, it also suggests a narrative of hope that shines through the darkness.

 

 

 

In Chen’s work, mines, caves, and ores function as metaphors. In this work, she attempts to “scan” the western mountains from a de-anthropocentric perspective, using imaging technologies and the philosophy of time embedded within them to construct a broader perceptual framework, one that reflects the ecological and social conditions in crisis. As Chen notes, “The mining industry that exists in the remote mountains of southwestern China is essentially a game of time between humans and the earth.”
