2001年起担任印度国家现代艺术馆馆长。1980年代起，他先后成为印度国家美术院院士、印度教育与文化部国家级专家。他1985-1987年间获日本政府文部省颁发的研究奖金。1994年获日本政府研究奖金，1997年获印度人力资源发展部高级研究奖金。其任期内，印度国家现代艺术画廊成为德里的文化中心，策划了包括毕加索、丽贝卡·霍恩、尼古拉斯·罗瑞克安尼施·卡普尔等许多著名艺术家的展览。

Director of National Gallery of Modern Art of India, has been at the helm of affairs since 2001. In 1980s， he became a National Scholar and Academician of the Union Ministry of Education and Culture of India. He received Monbusho Research Scholarship from Japanese Government during 1985-87, the Japanese Government Research Fellowship in 1994 and Senior Fellowship from Ministry of Humain Resource, Department of Culture of India. Under Prof. Lochan’s guidance, the NGMA mounted numerous important exhibitions including those of Pablo Picasso, Rebecca Horn Nicholas Roerich，and Anish Kapoor.
