Jorge Marin was born in Uruapan, Michoacán, in 1963. Initially he was enrolled in Graphic Design at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He later enrolled at the National School of Restoration where he would study for about four and a half years. His career as an art restorer led him to work on restoring the former Cultural Center of Contemporary Art in Mexico. At the beginning of the 90´s, his talent was undoubtedly noticed through a series of ceramic sculptures. His contact with bronze began in the middle of that same decade. His innate sense of ornamentation and extraordinary technical skill of shaping volumes, augmented by his genius to combine fantastic realities, has allowed this artist to confuse and astound the viewer.

Jorge Marin explores the theme of human anatomy with a realism containing sound sculptural proportions, revaluing the vision of a new academy and offering as such with his artwork, the door to infinite possibilities of how to interpret this representation, which in creative postmodernism gets right when betting on one's ability to recognize a history that revises and claims, without allowing it to distinguish the imprint of his personal creative work or abandon the preconfigured principles on which his artwork is found. His artwork in bronze highlights his formal approach to each character, whose presence is a key element that makes up the represented figure by imposing its axis or column used to measure the composition in order to explore not necessarily symmetrically, but on the contrary, asymmetrically. From his work emanates the historical classicism of ancient sculptures with a perfect fusion full of contemporary themes. Winged men that represent the lightness of the wind blowing launched in the air with the eternal desire of flight. Human ambition tries to seize this inherent quality that birds possess through a creative dream, which supplants the perfection of a flying machine or an airplane for that of a body, in an allegory present in the cap placed on the character's temples or a mask with a long peak.

In this sense, we can say that the bronze work of Jorge Marin, a discipline that he provided a unique treatment to, is currently the collective unconsciousness of our country, and that the issues inherent in their mythologies have become a current statuesque Mexican iconography.
