"No.7 Space: GDMoA's Young Artists Academic Nomination Exhibition" is a youth artists support project launched by our museum in 2017. This academic brand focuses on the young artist cohort born between the 1970s and 1990s, centering on solo exhibitions as its primary mode of presentation and interfacing with a series of academic initiatives including publications, seminars, and cultural exchanges. Aimed at comprehensively and multi-dimensionally displaying the diverse ecology of contemporary youth art, the project has successfully held four editions to date, building an advancing academic platform for young artists across the nation.

"Boundless: A Retrospective of GDMoA's Young Artists Nomination Exhibition Series" serves as an academic review and concentrated presentation of the project's periodic achievements. Under the theme of "Boundless" and rooted in the permanent collection of the Guangdong Museum of Art, the exhibition brings together over thirty young artists active at the forefront of contemporary art, showcasing a diverse range of creations spanning from 2000 to 2024. The participating lineup encompasses highly representative creators including Lin Yusi, Du Xiaotong, Li Ning, Lin Ruixiang, Qi Lan, Su Chang, Sun Ce, Zhang Wenxin, Huang Yishan, Wang Ling, Zhou Wei, Zhang Haichao, Fan Xi, Hu Qingyan, Cai Yaling, Yang Xiaoman, Du Songru, Xie Lisi, Zhou Qinshan, Zhuo Ying, Wang Yuyang, Zhou Hong, Zheng Longyihai, Yin Kanbao, Ye Fan, Mo Zhi, Wang Ziling, Song Xi, Zheng Yunhan, Wang Lijun, Zhang Zhaoying, Ying Hu Zhi Ye (Zeng Yuandong, Chen Ruicheng, Ding Shilun), Zhang Wenchao, and Ma Ruocong. Spanning a rich array of mediums from traditional ink wash and easel painting to sculpture, installation, video, and new media, the deep cultivation and convergence across these diverse domains together delineate the rich countenance of the contemporary youth art ecology, profoundly validating the far-reaching significance of the Guangdong Museum of Art's long-term dedication to discovering and cultivating new artistic forces.

As a public art museum, we steadfastly believe that the creative vitality of young artists constitutes the core driving force for the continuous growth of the artistic ecology. Relying on the brand project of "No.7 Space," the museum has not only constructed a complete chain from creation to exhibition for young artists, but has also driven a deep dialogue between their creative philosophies and the contemporary context, grounded in rigorous academic research. From supporting experimental and forward-looking creations in the early stages to exploring multimedia and interdisciplinary practices today, this platform has witnessed the transformation of young artists from growth to maturity. We anticipate that this retrospective exhibition will allow the audience to genuinely perceive, through these diverse works, the young artists' acute insights into the era, their persistent exploration of art, and their boundless imagination for the future.
