Opening of the “Tibetan Custom - Sketch Exhibition of Wu Zhengbin and Liu Bo” at Guangdong Museum of Art

Co-hosted by China Central Academy of Fine Art, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art, and Guangdong Museum of Art, the "Tibetan Custom -- Sketch Exhibition of Wu Zhengbin and Liu Bo" was opened at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art on October 17, 2017.
 
Prof. Wu Zhengbin, a professor and postgraduate supervisor of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art, is a veteran in creating and teaching watercolor painting and oil painting. His works, including the Buttered Tea and the Samsara, have won many awards at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts, many of which were collected by the National Art Museum of China. In addition, he developed a bunch of fine art professionals. The Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau is a place where a man can purify his soul and thoroughly understand the significance of life. He has gone to Tibet for painting for many times and believed that there is endless sources for his creation, including the unique snowcapped plateau landscape and rich and characteristic colors...Everything in Tibet is very close to his soul and fits with his personality. He painted a great number of featured and vivid Tibetans and lamas that reveal his capability of painting people. Most of his works are presented in heavy, rich and solid colors. This Exhibition will display a portion of his recent Tibet-related works from which we can sense his love to the vast and beautiful Tibet in a concise and simple form.
 
In the eyes of Wang Shaoqiang, the curator of this Exhibition and curator of Guangdong Museum of Art, Wu's landscape paintings make us warm and the vitality brought by the flowing color perfectly fits with the calm and elegance of his portrait paintings. The utmost precise depicting of his works conveys his determination and resolution. Li Jinkun, dean of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art, once said, Wu Zhengbin prefers to use strong and rich colors, his works are bold and unrestrained, and portraits in his works are vivid. His portrait paintings in the last year, in particulate, reveal more of his accumulation of painting experience over the past years, with distinct characteristics and outstanding spirit, that fully exhibit his capability of portrait and landscape painting.
 
Prof. Liu Bo, another artist of this Exhibition and professor and doctoral supervisor of China Central Academy of Fine Art, went to Tibet alone every year for painting there long time. His paintings are mainly about Tibetans. His pilgrim and oil paintings are full of pure colors and value of dependence between human and nature. Works exhibited this time are his accumulation over the past years, exhibiting his insistence, determination and love to Tibet.
 
Fan Di'an, dean of China Central Academy of Fine Art, said that it seems that the expression of Liu's oil paintings are complementary to this design thinking. Liu Bo went to Tibet alone every year for painting there long time. His paintings are mainly about Tibetans. The purpose of his lonely travel is to purify his soul and fill up any possible empty of his thinking or to thoroughly understand the significance of life. His pilgrim and oil paintings are full of pure colors and value of dependence between human and nature.
 
This Exhibition will remain open till October 27.
