中央美术学院副教授、硕士生导师,国家主题性美术创作研究中心副主任,中央美术学院中国画学研究部主任。美术史博士、艺术学博士后。
 
研究领域集中于中国近现代美术史论、中国画学研究、国家主题性美术研究、当代美术批评与展览策划。在国家级权威核心期刊等发表学术论文百余篇合计80余万字。独立主持完成国家社科基金艺术学项目、文化部艺术司国家主题性美术创作理论研究项目等课题,获评2014年教育部霍英东教育基金高校青年教师奖。
 
With a doctoral degree in the history of fine arts and as a postdoctoral researcher in art, YU Yang serves as the association professor, master supervisor, deputy director of the Thematic Arts Creation and Research Center, and director of Chinese Painting Research Department at China Central Academy of Fine Arts. 
 
His research focuses on modern history of Chinese fine arts, Chinese paintings, thematic arts, and contemporary fine arts criticism and exhibition curation.  He’s published over 100 academic papers of some 800,000 characters in national core journals. He independently finished an art project sponsored by National Social Science Fund and a project on the theoretical studies of thematic fine arts creation supported by Department of Arts, Ministry of Culture. YU Yang was awarded the Outstanding Young Teacher in Higher Education Institutions by Fok Ying Tong Education Foundation, Ministry of Education.
