People’s Sports：Selection of works in GDMOA’s Collection
Theme: People’s Sports：Selection of works in GDMOA’s Collection “People’s Sports” will be the opening exhibition at the Shen Lian Sub-museum of GDMOA. Selected from 15000 pieces of work from GDMOA’s collection, this exhibition will display 208 art pieces which all deal with ideas about popular athletic sports. Embracing a range of media including photography, traditional Chinese painting, oil painting, printmaking, sculpture and folk painting, this exhibition focuses on how primitive mass sports have been passed down from generation to generation and also between nationalities. It will also uncover how “imported” foreign sports activities have been transformed by the Chinese into daily amusements. |
