Guided Tours in English for School students
Our guided tours are designed to present a rich visual arts experience, to increase students' perception and analytical skills and to enrich and extend school curriculum in a fun and comfortable environment. During the tours we engage students in active looking and discussions by focusing on approximately 5 to 7 works of art in the course of a 50-minute tour. The guided tour is planned and developed according to the information you provide the tour coordinator prior to your visit.

Available Tours:
Special Exhibition tours are available for all ages.

Depending on the exhibition, tours involving world cultures, history, and math may be available. Please contact the International Tour Coordinator for more information.
Art Start Tours: Grades K – 2
This fun tour introduces students to the elements of art (including line, shape, color, and texture) through the use of games and tour props.
Artistic Stories: Grades 5 – 12
This tour helps students create settings, characters, and plots from art! The students will practice close observation, do writing exercises, and participate in discussions to foster creative thinking. While this tour lasts 50 minutes, teachers may allow additional time for students to look at artwork individually and complete a worksheet that will help students generate a story after they’ve left the museum.
Art Criticism: Grades 9 – 12
Students will practice thinking critically about works of art.
Art English: Intermediate and Advanced level learners
This tour is for English language learners. Students can practice their English in a fun and interesting way while learning about art!

All groups of students under the age of 18 are admitted free. Teachers and Students who are not members of our Friends group must pay an admission fee. For additional information, please contact Victoria Durrer, International Programs Coordinator, by email at gdmadurrer@yahoo.com or telephone at 873 51 083. We are happy to create a tour that works specifically with your curriculum. Upon request we may also be able to arrange hands-on art activities to accompany the tour.
