The Guangdong Museum of Art is a major cultural
establishment in the province and the largest of its kind in
China. Equipped with modern facilities, this museum, like the
best art museums in advanced countries, is a place where works
of art are preserved, studied and displayed. The museum also
promotes education and cultural exchange. With a total area of
20,000 square meters and a display area of over 8,000 square
meters, the Guangdong Museum of Art consists of twelve
exhibition halls, in which exhibitions of both large- and
small-scale work may be shown. The 300-seat auditorium has an
advanced projection and video facilities. It is an ideal place
for holding international academic conferences and presenting
films. In addition, there are special areas devoted to
education and various kinds of service.
Opening Hours:
9:00a.m.-5:00p.m. daily (closed on Monday) .
Admission: Full
price ticket: RMB 15 for one person (The price is subject to
change for special exhibitions). Half
price ticket: RMB 7 for students、teachers (with certificates),
and retirees above aged 60 and below aged 65 with Guangzhou
Elder Preferential Certificate . Group
ticket: 30% discount for groups of 20 people or more (with
certifiable letter), RMB10 per person for one adult group, RMB
5 per person for one student group.
Preferential ticket: 20% discount for one person with
preferential card of nominated company.
Free admission for the following (with certificate of
proof): 1. Group of school children below age
18. 2. Children below age 18 accompanied by a
parent. 3. Senior citizens 65 years or old with
Guangzhou Elder Preferential Certificate . 4. Members
of the Guangdong Artists’
Association,journalists,military,veterans and
disabled. 5. Members of the Friends of the Guangdong
Museum of Art and members of the International Friends of the
Guangdong Museum of Art.
Museum rules: No
smoking in the exhibition area, no playing or running in
galleries, playing, food and drink only in designated areas,
no flash cameras, no touching exhibits.
Please take good care of your children and pay attention to
your safety. Please keep voices low.
Please take care of the public property, flowers, plants, and
trees. Walking on the lawn and climbing on the works of art
are forbidden.
